Fifth Grade Book Reports

Our Fiction Book Reports

As you can see, the Fifth Graders did a great job creating unique cereal boxes to present their fiction book reports.  Each student created a cereal brand with ingredients from the text and even a game to play on the back of the box!

The children presented their reports in class and did a short commercial to sell the cereal / book to other students.

Fifth Grade Book Reports

This past Friday and Monday the Fifth Grade students presented their Paper Bag Book Reports to the class.  The students decorated their bags with illustrations from the story and included 8 objects that represented events in the story or character traits.  The students all worked hard on their reports and did a fantastic job presenting in front of the class.  Their classmates were a great audience; supporting the presenters and asking pertinent questions. The quality of the reports was outstanding.

Welcome!

Dear Parents,
We are so excited to be introducing you to our new blog!  We will use this blog as another way to communicate activities taking place here in room 103 as well as up in each student's homeroom.  On the right hand side of the blog you will find important dates and at-home resources.  We have listed upcoming test dates, project due dates and the dates scheduled for MCAS.  The classroom resources tab provides you with links to the Saxon Math and SRA programs that provide the basis for much of our curriculum in room 103.  Like all elementary teachers, we strongly believe in the important role that math facts play in establishing lifelong math skills.  To support these efforts, we have provided you with a number of excellent online math sites for you to use with your children at home.  Please view the information listed under classroom resources.

Please feel free to call me at 781-238-6844 or email me at melanson@burlington.mec.edu with any questions or concerns about your child.

We hope you enjoy our new blog and check back with us frequently!
